  In the UK his reputation for recklessness hasn’t diminished. He appears to care more for the American economy than he does for the American people. He’s going to get America back to work by Easter because it’s a “very nice timeline, very nice” – well good luck with that. I always thought he was a moron until someone pointed out that you have to have an IQ of at least 51 to qualify.

  when the wt uses her, they fail to highlight the fact that she was a temple prostitute and an unbeliever when she "saved" the spies.. i said you know, the wt doesn't use the most famous liar as an example.

  Don't bee too had on the Dubs, after all, as far as the bible is concerned 2000 years is "soon", so 140 years of saying "soon" is quite scriptural.

  The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet (Rom 16:20).

  You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near (James 5:8).

  The end of all things is near (1 Pet 4:7).

  And as far as the OT is concerned, "soon" could mean over 3000 years.

  as a matter of fact nothing stands out to me that shows the witnesses have the truth..

  If we’re just talking about prophecies, then the Watchtower has never got a single one right. But they have got no end of them wrong, so even by their own definition of a false prophet they fit the bill perfectly. If we’re talking about doctrine, things are not so clear. Insofar as it can be said that the bible teaches anything, I think, on balance they are probably right about hell, the immortality of the soul, and quite a lot more of the more fanciful Catholic doctrines like transubstantiation etc. There was quite a long thread on this subject some time ago, although I’m sure it’s not the only one on this site.

  I just started watching this, and half way through the door bell rang. Would you believe it? There stood a JW with a little leaflet in his hand. What are the chances? The last time they appeared at my door must be over two years ago. I missed the second half of the program talking to this guy. Needless to say, his idea of how sex abuse cases are handled within the org and how they actually are handled are quite different. Still I told him the reality of the situation, although I don't think he believed me, I was after all just repeating devil inspired propaganda.
